Trauma and Relationship Counselling

Keva Glynn Clinical Counsellor

When a relationship feels strained, distant, or stuck, it can be hard to know how to move forward — or even where to begin. You may be caught in painful patterns with a partner, family member, or friend, navigating the aftermath of a rupture, or feeling unsure whether reconnection is possible. Sometimes one of you is more ready for support than the other, which can add to the tension.

I work with couples who want help making sense of what’s happening between them and find steadier ground again. I also support individuals who are struggling with stress in their relationships, burnout, and/or times of transition. Sometimes it’s all three at once. Many people arrive feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected, and overwhelmed, even and especially after trying hard to manage things on their own.

My approach is grounded, relational, and collaborative. Whether I’m working with one person or a couple/family members, we slow things down, clarify the underlying dynamics, and create space for safety, understanding, and meaningful change. This work is not about blame or quick fixes, but about restoring the capacity for connection — with yourself and with each other. With over two decades in healthcare, including senior leadership roles, I understand how important the right fit is, especially when you’re feeling vulnerable. A free 20-minute consultation offers a low- pressure way to talk through what’s bringing you here, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels supportive and aligned. Couples are welcome to attend together, or one partner may book initially.

You don’t have to do this alone.

My Approach

Warm, curious and practical

I am passionate about supporting people to reclaim their lives and relationships. I use a trauma-informed, client-paced approach grounded in evidence-based tools.  Together, we'll clarify what's hurting and why, build skills to tolerate and regulate difficult emotions, improve communication, and develop a plan you can follow. I’ll meet you where you’re at, but I won’t leave you there. I draw from the following modalities: Somatic Therapy, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Psychodynamic Emotionally Focused Therapy. With couples, I draw primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method.
